WNEU’s MFA in Creative Writing

Welcome!

z-mfa-roundtable

We’re a low-residency MFA program with two residencies per year (one on campus here in Springfield, MA and one in the Berkshires or Dublin). Our mentors are published writers of novels, short stories, essays, poems, and memoirs and our students work on literary and genre fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction.

If you want the official details, check out WNEU’a MFA page!

What our students say:

The program provides  “a great opportunity to let your creativity flow and prosper without having to commit to a full-time schedule, all the while maintaining a connection with like-minded individuals who will provide much needed advice an a writing-intensive space twice a year.”

Zubia Abbassi, Class of 2020

“All the assignments are specifically catered to each student, and the students have a strong influence on what they study. I’ve often asked permission to read certain books and my advisor approved them.”
